What is Stress?

Stress is a physiological response to stimuli that we encounter on a daily basis.  It increases cortisol, adrenaline and other neurotransmitters in the brain so we can effectively manage our lives.  However when we are constantly in contact with stress our base physiology begins to alter and our physical and mental states start to wear down.

How does Yoga & Meditation help?

The Science of Yoga is about learning to quiet the mind "chatter" and gain control over thoughts which often plague us.  Both Yoga and Meditation teach us to become aware of our breath and bring sensation into the body. This moves us out of our thoughts into physical and emotional awareness. Once we learn to effectively recognize our thought patterns we can then address our stress responses using meditation and yoga as tools to thereby reduce the effects of stress.

What is Energetic body-Work?

Energetic Bodywork combines techniques from traditional Therapeutic Massage and Thai Massage with the Art of Jin Shin, guided breathwork and mindfulness meditation to lead the body and brain back to a balanced state where healing can occur.  During the session areas that hold emotional and physical tension are addressed and unhealthy mental and physical patterns created by stress are released. 

This therapy is stand alone or can be combined with yoga and meditation all depending on your specific needs.  This session can also be fully clothed for comfort and it is appropriate for all ages. Because it takes years for disharmony to occur in the body which can come from many places in your life, the first session includes a comprehensive lifestyle consultation followed by a 90 minute treatment. In addition, a commitment of 5 sessions is required for new clients in order for the body to establish a baseline in the healing process. It is only with consistent focused treatments, dedicated mental intent and lifestyle changes that the whole being may return to a state of health.
